Position: Legal Counsel

Report to: Country Legal Director

Department: Legal

Location: Russey Keo Office, Phnom Penh

Contract: Contract 6 Months



A. Legal Risk Consultation and Management

• Providing legal support and advice accurately and timely to management & stakeholders on relevant legal issues

• Applying effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues

• Promoting legal, compliance and risk management best practice throughout the company.

• Cooperating with relevant departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate course of action have been taken.


B. Legal update and Regulatory Compliance

• Ensuring compliance with all laws/regulations, internal controls and other formalities that apply to the business.

• Formulating and Developing compliance checklists to ensure the legally and timely processing operation.

• Communicating and working with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.) to drive the effective result and to create relations of trust.


C. Contracts Management & Development

• Drafting, reviewing, revising all agreements/contracts, internal policies and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights and compliance

• Formulating, initiating and developing the guidelines, processes and templates to ensure the effective control over the contract’s life circle and speedy contracts processing.


D. Company Policies management, training, and development

• Reviewing or modifying company policies/guidelines to comply with group policies and local laws/regulations.

• Designing and delivering legal training and advice to all associates as needed.

• Taking action and Collaborating with relevant department to ensure the implementation of consistent disciplinary action strategies in cases of compliance standard violations.


D. Litigation and investigation management

• Reviewing the progress of outstanding and new litigations and liaise with and manage external lawyers.

• Investigating and working with relevant department to collect the facts and recommend the solution to Management.


E. other tasks

• Other tasks which are requested by management.

Job Requirements

• Holding Law Bachelor’s Degree or master’s degree (More preferable)

• Having legal professional experience at least 2 years in law firm or company (FMCG industry is more advantage)

• Ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies

• Ability to analyses situations/information and solve problems

• Good organizational, prioritization and time-management skills

• Flexibility, innovative and productivity management.
