Jobs Description


  • Provide confidential individual and small group counselling to students on issues related to emotional regulation, peer relationships, behaviour, stress, and academic pressures.
  • Support the development and implementation of a whole-school wellbeing programme.
  • Work closely with teachers and leadership to identify students in need of additional support.
  • Maintain clear records of student cases, progress, and communication, following professional and legal standards for confidentiality and safeguarding.
  • Provide guidance to parents and staff on student wellbeing and mental health concerns.
  • Develop and deliver age-appropriate workshops or classroom sessions on topics such as resilience, empathy, friendships, transitions, and healthy coping strategies.
  • Assist in managing behaviour incidents, providing restorative support where appropriate.
  • Liaise with external professionals or services when needed, with parent consent and school approval.
  • Contribute to safeguarding processes and act as a point of contact in child protection matters when relevant.
  • Participate in meetings, professional development, and school events as required.


Jobs Requirement


  • A recognised degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Counselling certification or licensure relevant to the local or international context.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a school or child-focused setting.
  • Understanding of child and adolescent development, mental health, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Strong communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • A calm, non-judgemental, and professional approach with a strong sense of confidentiality and discretion.
  • Ability to build trust with students and maintain appropriate boundaries.
  • Familiarity with safeguarding policies and ability to act as a mandated reporter.
  • Proficient in maintaining case notes and using basic digital systems or counselling records software.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written); Khmer or other language skills are an advantage.
