Jobs Description

The Retention Initiatives Coordinator (RIC) is responsible for initiating, coordinating,

and evaluation outreach efforts for students identified as experiencing academic and

non-academic difficulties. This will include identifying and assigning appropriate

interventions for early alerts, facilitating campus-wise student success workshops, and

working closely with students to balance their college-life-work responsibilities. In addition,

this person will focus on special events or activities which enhance the student’s sense of

belonging.

* Responsibilities Are As Follows:

- Research retention-related trends in higher education worldwide.

- Evaluate alignment of current retention initiatives at AUPP with the trends worldwide and

suggest areas for improvement as well as new initiatives to the Student Affairs team.

- Expand and coordinate the success coaching initiative through the Student Affairs office

under the supervision of the department Director.

- Collaborate with appropriate departments to design, develop and implement a

comprehensive student services system that includes individualized outreach, success

tracking, and appropriate interventions and accommodations.

- Provide ongoing training and support to faculty and staff in effective delivery of services

and implementation of new support tools/technology.

- Ensure regular discussions with various student groups, ensuring continuous feedback is

channeled from students to AUPP leadership.

- Coordinate the activities of the Committee for Student - - - Success Initiatives focusing on student mental and physical well-being, academic success, and related challenges.

- Coordinate retention activities, specifically with graduating students of the AUPP High

School as well as the students in the English Preparatory Program.

- Maintain regular communication with the Learning Center Director, AUPP Librarian, AUPP

High School Principal and English Preparatory Program Director to ensure transparency in

communication between the departments.

- Support the admission and marketing initiatives as needed to represent supportive

services available at AUPP to prospective students.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

Jobs Requirement

- Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred.

- Experience working in a higher education environment while working directly with students.

- Strong command of the English language. Second language preferred.

- Be able to work independently, producing expected outputs under time pressure.

- Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with a team.

- Excellent organizational, technological, and communication skills

- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work well with young adults.

- Experience teaching English as a Second Language preferred.

- Willing to work nights and weekends as needed.
