Jobs Description

- Supervise the GBV and Mental Health Outreach Assistants and provide leadership in the implementation and monitoring of GBV prevention and response activities at the WGCS and other RI related GBV activities, ensuring that activities are implemented in an appropriate and timely manner. - Provide on-the-job supervision and training of GBV and Mental Health Outreach Assistants and community and camp-based volunteers on GBV prevention and response as well as general protection. - Conduct and oversee case management, provide training and supervision to caseworkers. - Ensure that GBV Program policies and standards are understood and met and maintain a safe space atmosphere in the Women and Girls Centers and other spaces relevant to GBV program activities. - Promote GBV guiding principles throughout all GBV activities; ensure that the voices of women and girls are represented. - Ensure that community and inter-sector meetings are conducted to discuss cross-cutting protection issues relevant to GBV. - Improve/strengthen coordination of Relief International’s work with the relevant ministries, sectors and other protection agencies. - Provide information and advice to other sectors on ways to mainstreaming protection in programs. - Provide the Protection Program Manager with detailed information regarding all GBV protection activities on a weekly and monthly basis. - Develop monthly work plans and reports in advance and present to supervisor. - Ensure recognized international best practices and Relief International policies are applied in the work with beneficiaries and partners. - Upon the request of the supervisor, represent the Protection program in external meetings. - Prepare and submit financial documentation as required by RI policies.

Jobs Requirement

- (2-4) years’ experience working in protection (GBV) programming or similar experience - Extensive experience in building strong protection systems and in delivering services to GBV survivors in emergencies - Strong background and skills in facilitating trainings, coaching and mentoring others - Experience in both, development and humanitarian sector preferred - Proven representation and advocacy skills - Familiarity with key international standards for humanitarian work (e.g. GBV IASC guidelines, CP Minimum Standards, SPHERE, HAP Principles) - Good command in English and Burmese essential; Knowledge of Rakhine an asset - Bachelor degree in Social Work, Human Rights or other relevant field preferable - Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly and effectively at all levels, taking into account cultural and language difficulties - Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures - Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mind-sets - Ability to motivate and influence others - Is able to clearly communicate expectations - Work under limited supervision and ability to work in multi-task environment and under-pressure - Excellent written and oral communications skills - Commitment to working on behalf of women and girls
