The Institut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) is a Cambodian non-for-profit research institution established in 1953,

IPC is today a scientific research establishment declared of public utility placed under the high patronage of the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Cambodia and under the responsibility of the Institute Pasteur on the scientific and technical levels. The IPC is a meber of the Pasteur Network, which brings together 33 institutes present on five continents. It shares the Pasteurian values and the ethical charter to which the Pasteur Institutes are bound. The IPC has more than 250 employees, including about 30 expatriates of 10 nationalities and includes 5 research units. It carries out research activities in health biology, public health and service activities (Medical Biology Laboratory, vaccinations and water and food analyses) and training.

The lnstitut Pasteur du Cambodge (IPC) is recruiting a full-time Laboratory Monitor to work and studies in the Clinical Research Group at the Epidemiology and Public Health Unit. This position offers a one-year renewable contract.

* Main responsibilities:

The Laboratory Monitor is based in Phnom Penh at the Institut Pasteur du Cambodge. He/She will act as a liaison between the Coordination Team, the Central Laboratory and the laboratories located at the hospitals/national institutes participating in clinical research projects. He/she will be responsible for managing the Biobanking of different research projects. He/She will work under the supervision of the Head of the Clinical Research Group.

• Laboratory monitoring
• Ensure the integrity of sample management, from sample collection to sample storage.
• Monitoring the follow-up schedule and sample flow.
• Ensure the implementation and application of laboratory techniques required for the purposes of studies at the hospitals participating in clinical research projects.
• Enter laboratory results in the dedicated databases.
• Report results to the study doctor and team, and send laboratory results to each study site.
• Ensure the availability of reagents and materials at the study sites participating in clinical trials.
• Work in collaboration with the laboratory of IPC.
• Keep a high standard of infection control in the laboratory.
• Participate in the investigation team meetings and other meetings as requested.

* Biobank management

• Prepare samples for the biobank following the SOPs
• Organize the storage of the biobank specimens
• Enter the biobank data into Redcap database
• Inventory management to ensure continuity of biobank and lab operations

• Language required: Khmer and English
• References required
• At least 2 years’ experience in laboratory work
• Available to start on 1 st November 2023
