Jobs Description

• Assistant Farm Manager will communicated directly with the Employer as needed, or at least weekly, about the needed responsibilities and status of work on the Farm. • In the absence of the Farm Manager Assistant Farm Manager will communicate the duties required for the day and the week daily with the other Employees of the Farm, mentoring and monitoring staff as needed. • Assistant Farm Manager will keep an eye on budget constraints and production to maintain farm progress against budget parameters, requesting updates from Employer to stay informed. • Assistant Farm Manager must appreciate and stay abreast of the need to satisfy regulations set by the Local, and State Government and always be aware of the importance of staying compliant with the guidelines set forth. • In addition, the Assistant Farm Manager will complete whatever duties required by Employer not named on this page, within the reasonable scope of the farm. • Assistant Farm Manager helps direct and coordinate worker activities, such as planting, irrigation, application of fertilizer and nutrient application, harvesting, and processing for trim crew. • At the end of the season, Assistant Farm Manager will oversee and participate in the cleanup of all greenhouses and dry areas, completing a checklist before leaving for end of contract.

Jobs Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, or equivalent. • Additional courses in Business Management or Administration is recommended. • Extensive experience in a farming-related field. • Management experience would be a plus. • A passion for Agriculture. • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills. • The ability to make decisions in stressful environments. • Superb communication and interpersonal skills. • Willingness to work overtime as required.
