Location : Battambang Province Salary : $567 and other benefits Summary of the Position: The Operations Translator assists the TOM in all aspects of the TOM's daily duties including accurate written and oral translations when and where required. Note: This role follows the MAG teams' operational cycle, meaning that the recruited staff member will work every day, including weekends, for approximately 20 days of each month, followed by approximately 10 consecutive days off. Weekends worked and public holidays are included in this stand-down period. 1. Specific areas of responsibility: - To provide accurate written translation and oral interpretation during all operations, at meetings, training, workshops, and investigations from English to Khmer and vice versa as requested. - To advise the TOM on issues of local, cultural, political and religious matters where necessary. - To assist the TOM with preparing and writing of meeting minutes, reports, and statements as required. This may include the taking and translation of statements given in local language. - To maintain a secure filing system for both soft and hard copies of all MAG data in the OT possession that is both easy to access and to understand (authorized personnel only). - To regard all matters relating to his / her duties as confidential and not to disclose those matters to any individuals. - If possible, undertake driving duties when accompanying international staff 2. Responsibilities of all staff As part of their roles, all MAG staff are required to: - Uphold and implement MAG standard policies including, but not limited to the Policy on Personal Conduct, Protection of Children and Vulnerable Adults, Dignity at Work, Financial Crime Policy, Gifts and Hospitality Policy and Equal Opportunities Policy - Understand and uphold the standards outlined in MAG’s Safeguarding Framework, acting with due care and attention to safeguard the wellbeing of anyone that comes into contact with MAG’s work and reporting concerns if they do arise. - Work within the framework of MAG’s core values, promoting its ethos and mission statement. - Work towards achieving programme and/or department business plan objectives - Ensure familiarity with and adhere to all MAG policies and procedures and keep informed of MAG activities - Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training and development programmes. - Undertake the role in a manner appropriate to the cultural context and within the local legal framework - On occasion, work outside regular working hours as circumstances dictate.

Qualification and Core Competencies: - At least a graduate of high school - Excellent spoken and written English and Khmer skills - Computer literate and conversant with Microsoft Word and Excel - Strong interpersonal and communication skills - Must demonstrate the willingness to learn and have a basic technical understanding of mine action activities including the technical terms - Well organized, proactive, flexible, trustworthy, honest and reliable - Physically fit and have good health - Driving license a significant advantage Women and people with disabilities are particularly encouraged to apply.
