Jobs Description

a. Assist in developing training package in appropriate collection of microbiology specimens b. Assist clinicians in identification of patients in whom microbiology specimens are appropriate. Mentor health staff how to collect appropriate specimens c. Assist to improve communication between hospital staff, including doctors, nurses and management, and microbiology laboratory staff d. Follow up culture results and assist doctors with interpretation of results e. Assist hospitals to analyse their microbiology, pharmacy and hospital data f. Work with infection control committees to implement appropriate infection prevention and control practices g. Assist hospitals to establish Antimicrobial stewardship committees and implement Antimicrobial Stewardship programs h. Assist with developing and delivering interactive teaching modules (including simulations) for medical students in microbiology and infectious diseases i. Develop infectious disease material for Continuing Medical Education, including workshops and conferences j. Assist in advocacy of appropriate use of antibiotics and proper infection control procedures k. Work with hospital staff and partners to develop a sustainable infectious disease program

Jobs Requirement

- Medical Doctor registered with Medical Council of Cambodia who has at least 2 years clinical experience preferably in Medicine and/or Paediatrics. Specialist in Infectious Diseases or Internal Medicine highly desirable - Clinical proficiency in assessing patients, competent in making a differential diagnosis, appropriately managing patients and using evidence-based guidelines - Excellent communication skills. Fluent in Khmer and proficient in English - Be able to travel to provinces and provide clinical mentoring on a regular basis. - Possible sites of work include Siem Reap, Battambang, Kampong Cham, Takeo or Phnom Penh ** Benefits Salary negotiable, depending on experience Full range of benefits including: - Per Diem Payment when away from base. - One extra month of salary per year - Cambodian Medical Board Registration fee - Health Insurance - Annual leave 18 days plus all Cambodian National Public holidays - Sick leave 12 days/year - Training and development allowance - Supported attendance to national meetings - 5% severance pay ** How To Apply Interested candidates, please submit CV (including 2 referees), Cover Letter and available start time via email below.
