• Check Safety Plan of contractors in coordination with Senior Site Engineer and Project Manager. • Attend Safety Induction carried out by contractors. • Is part of the project safety council and leads all efforts to enhance safety • The safety officer reviews and approves all subcontractor’s safety plans • Conducts investigations of all accidents and near-misses. • Verifies that injury logs and reports are completed and submitted to the Construction Manager. • Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use. • Promotes safe practices at the job site. • Enforces safety guidelines. • Ensure Weekly Safety Walk-through in coordination with contractors Safety Officer/Staff. • Record Safety violations and formulate a penalty system. • Responds to employees’ safety concerns. • Inspects the site to ensure it is a hazard-free environment. • Others that may be instructed from time to time by the immediate supervisor/Senior Engineer/Manager related to Safety, documents, and emergency issues.
