Jobs Description

- The analysis will include the institutional (armed groups, government and donor/ implementing agencies) and activities landscape in conflict-affected areas. - This should include the different types of partners (e.g., INGOs, LNGOs, NSAGs, and local community groups) that LIFT could work with, and appropriate partner selection processes. - Review and revise LIFT's conflict sensitive principles to guide locally-customized approaches to activities in conflict areas or areas emerging from conflict, including adherence to international good practice related to 'do no harm' practices. - Develop and advise on approaches and methods for collecting, verifying and reporting data in conflict-affected areas aligning with LIFT's Logframe. - This should include advice on initial dialogue with key stakeholders and communication with stakeholders as LIFT's activities in conflict-affected areas develops. - Ensure that LIFT's programmes remain relevant and appropriate as the context changes and, provide the FMO/ Fund Board with monitoring and learning plans for LIFT's work in conflict-affected areas. - Advice should include the identification of risks that LIFT is likely to face as well as options for management of the identified risks. - This will include advising on the design project appraisals as well as on-going monitoring and learning plans for LIFT's work in conflict-affected areas. - Prepare written advice on any of the above on request and pro-actively as required.. - On request, prepare comments on draft documents associated with any of the above. - On request, facilitate meetings and workshops with staff of the Fund Management Office and the Fund Board. - In collaboration with the Fund Board and the Fund Management Office, make occasional visits to LIFT-funded projects in conflict-affected areas of Myanmar. - Written products as requested - Field visit reports - Specific written deliverables as requested in the task note - Workshop and meeting facilitation as requested - Written inputs on LIFT's risk matrix before every LIFT Fund Board meeting (3x per year) - An annual report of work performed

Jobs Requirement

- A Master's Degree or PhD in Social Sciences, Political Sciences, Development Studies or related field is required. - Additional two years of similar experience with a Bachelor's Degree is considered as equivalent. - At least 7 years' experience in advising development agencies in conflict-sensitive approaches is required. - Knowledge of the political, economic and social situation of Myanmar's conflict-affected areas is desirable. - Demonstrated experience in knowledge management, including knowledge generation and using knowledge to influence policy development is preferable. - Previous successful involvement with, and good knowledge of, the UN system, NGOs and civil society is an advantage. - Computer literacy in Microsoft packages (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access) is required. - Fluency in both written and spoken English is essential.
