To assist the General Manager/Hotel Manager in the assessment of training needs, planning of training courses, and presentation of training courses. To train and instruct other members of the staff by passing along your knowledge and skills. In addition, utilizing resources from the Engineering Training Library and of outside vendors and sources, assist them in their development and further advance your own. Participate in Corporate and Property Training as directed by General Manager/Hotel Manager. Set an example of continuous self-development. To be able to analyze problems, formulate plans and execute, to get work done quickly including procurement of materials, parts, etc., and necessary scheduling arrangements with a high degree of quality. Manage repair and maintenance projects and building improvements by effectively coordinating and planning all tasks in advance of beginning any project. Utilize all possible resources. Coordinate efforts with engineering and other affected departments. Use project management techniques along with the appropriately assigned engineering team members to perform project planning and execution. All methods, materials and practices must meet and be in accordance with local codes, specifications, national codes and standard practices. Keep accurate completion and task records in the project files. Materials procurement and coordination of their availability are also critical to the success of your position. Our goal is to cost-effectively maximize the schedule. This position is directly responsible for the following: Direct supervision and scheduling of the work force. All preventative maintenance programs. All repair and maintenance work orders. Inventories and procurement of parts and supplies. Accident prevention and safety. Energy conservation. Neatness and cleanliness of the engineering space and all areas under the direct control of the department. Managing and organizing the gardening and landscaping entire hotel premises Administer all preventative and general maintenance programs by: Maintaining a room’s maintenance strategy. Maintaining tracking data, check sheet and logs. Planning and scheduling preventative maintenance. Planning and scheduling corrective maintenance. Planning and scheduling project work. Regular inspections. Energy Conservation - to analyze energy and utilities usage in the hotel and on the grounds. To look for ways to conserve energy and implement energy conservation programs Emergencies - to be available for any emergencies and act in an engineering management capacity to protect our guests and associates, and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency. To act quickly and responsibly as possible to return the building to it’s normal operating status. To inform the General Manager of any such emergencies. By supporting accident Prevention and Safety in HSSE matter - assist in the development of and administration of departmental Job Safety Analysis and to strive to work in an accident-free manner and to create a safe work environment for others. To continuously look for conditions that may endanger associates or guests of the hotel and to take immediate action to correct any hazardous conditions found. Records - to read, log, track and interpret readings from meters, gauges and other measuring units. To maintain a thorough log of each day’s activities and problems that occur and to ensure this information is passed on to other shifts. Complete any reasonable request made of management which is not life threatening or against the law. Work closely with ACE to ensure all preventative maintenance programs, repair and maintenance work orders, direct supervision and scheduling of the work force, inventories and procurement of parts and supplies in place, deliver training for accident prevention and safety, monitor and manage energy consumption in hotel, neatness and cleanliness of the engineering workshop and office,

Jobs Requirement

Works with the Human Resource Department to ensure the departmental performance of staff is productive. Duties include: Plans for future staffing needs Recruits in line with company guidelines Prepares detailed induction programs for new staff Maintains a comprehensive, current and guest focused set of departmental standards and procedures and oversees their implementation Ensures training needs analysis of Engineering staff is carried out and training programs are designed and implemented to meet needs Conducts probation and formal performance appraisal in line with company guidelines Maintains up to date staff records and approves leave requests…etc. Coaches, counsels and disciplines staff, providing constructive feedback to enhance performance Regularly communicates with staff and maintains good relations Establishes a productive working schedule in line with labor laws Approves leave after considering hotel occupancies Create motivation an innovation program among Engineering team Financial Responsibilities: Works with Finance Controller in the preparation and management of the department’s budget. Duties include: Prepares the Engineering budget Monitors and controls inventories for operating equipment, tools, machines etc. and to ensure the spare parts and accessory items for daily engineering operation enough in stock. Controls and analyses department costs on an ongoing basis to ensure performance against budget Manages the department’s expenses Safety Responsibilities: Demonstrate Awareness of Safety policies and procedures set up by Belmond and ensure all procedures are conducted safely and within guidelines and ensure your direct reports do the same Be supportive duty of care and adhere to occupational, safety legislation, policies and procedures Be familiar with property safety, first aid, fire and emergency procedures and operate equipment safely and sensibly Initiate action to correct a hazardous situation and notify supervisors of potential dangers Log security incidents and accidents in accordance with hotel requirements Job specification Graduation in Engineering background Minimum Intermediate Knowledge of Building Operation & Maintenance Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment and Confident Self Motivated Outgoing & friendly candidates are warmly welcome Experience in scheduling, implementing and documenting Perpetual Preventative Maintenance programs
