Jobs Description

Receive deliveries of foodstuff items, label items, and ensure proper storage.
Oversee food prep and enrichment stock organization and cleanliness.
Oversee the distribution for client specific enrichment if necessary.
Build and maintain enrichment devices.
Assist with providing appropriate enrichments to the animals’ structural and social environments and provide opportunities for species-typical activities.
Maintain hanging and floor toys in all cages
Assist with coordinating animal psychological/behavioral enrichment and socialization of animals.
Work with other Behavioral staff to precondition animals and/or training on positive reinforcement techniques.
Work closely with the veterinary and animal care staff to ensure proper animal care standards are maintained.
Assist with evaluation of new enrichment devices and provide input on strategies for individually and socially housed animals.
Routinely handle animals as required for duties.
Maintain documentation for the Behavioral Management Program.
May be needed to provide support in other veterinary groups
Perform all other related duties as assigned

Jobs Requirement

High school diploma or General Equivalent Degree (G.E.D.) or equivalent in scientific related discipline
0-1 year experience in animal research and/or husbandry.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above.
Ability to handle Non Human primates. Proficient in basic technical skills and the operation of data collection equipment. Knowledge of regulations and guidelines relating to the care of laboratory animals. Understanding of routine NHP care and management
