Job Responsibilities:
- Participate to the development, review and update of a comprehensive risk management framework across different categories of internal and external risks;
- Develop an efficient risk management reporting framework;
- Participate to Annual Risk Mapping and ensure that major risks are efficiently monitored and mitigated;
- Participate to any external consultancy/mission related to internal controls and risk management;
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures as well as with Laws and Regulations of Myanmar;
- Provide support in the developing of new/existing policies and procedures and ensure their regular review and update;
- Support the implementation of the recommendations of internal and external audit recommendations;
- Monitor all open legal issues involving the organization, and legal issues affecting the microfinance sector;
- Ensures awareness of all staffs on updated policies and procedures at regional and branch levels;
- Conduct Risk Management training and provide necessary support to regions and branches on risk-related matters;
- Disseminate findings, recommendations and follow-up to the Management Committee;
- Participate to the preparation of a comprehensive report to the Board of Directors and the Risk Committee on a quarterly basis and participate to Board Committee meetings as requested
Job Requirements:
- At least a Bachelor degree in finance, accounting, management, economics or related diploma. Master’s degree preferred
- Professional accounting such as CPA or ACCA favoured
- At least 5-year experience including at least 1-year experience in internal control, audit, risk management, preferably in a microfinance / banking / audit firm
- Sound understanding of Myanmar Accounting Standards, International Accounting Standards, and basic knowledge of Myanmar Laws and Regulation (Tax, HR, etc.)
- Experience with off-the-shelf information system (microfinance, banking, accounting software)
- Strong computer proficiency with MS Office
- Capacity to learn, analyse and be detail-oriented
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Excellent reporting & communication skills in both Myanmar and English languages
- Capacity to travel to regional offices in Chin State & Sagaing Region (up to 50 % of time);
- Sense of responsibility, independence, transparency and honesty
